2016 New Ford Fiesta Review

26th April 2016

The 2016 Ford Fiesta is Britain's best-selling new car for good reason, it boasts a handsome line-up from frugal, practical models to top-end sporty and/or luxury models. If you looking for a supermini whatever your prerequisites we'd be extremely surprised if there isn't a Fiesta that meets you requirements.

Engine Range

2016 Ford Fiesta ST

Most of the new Ford Fiesta engine range offer enough power although the entry-level petrol engine may be a little sluggish for some people's taste. We recommend the 1.0T Ecoboost, the 1.0 turbocharged engine offers a surprisingly responsive drive  and when you hit the accelerator enough power is there!  If your looking for practicality the 1.5 TDCI is frugal and offers just about enough power.

At the quick-end of the model range is the ST it packs a 1.6 turbocharged engine and although it doesn't necessarily match rival hothatch's for pure brute power it's efficient engine means its usually matches them for pace!

Equipment & Styling

Overall for a car in it's class equipment levels are good, but if the entry-level models are a tad sparse for your taste you could try the Zetec model which we think offers a good level of equipment for the price including alloy wheels and fog lights. If you're looking for all the bells and whistles then look at the Titanium and Titanium X models which offer additional goodies like rear privacy glass and parking sensors.

Summary

The Fiesta range offers something for everyone and it's clear to see why it has been the UK's best-selling new car for several years. It's fun to drive and whether you're looking for low running costs and practicality or a fun drive down a country lane there's a Fiesta that can deliver this for you!
